Cloutel developed a NLP-based fact extraction solution for medical insurance documents. The system collected Medicaid benefits documents from the designated sites for several different states to locate information specific to illnesses or needs of eligible patients. This information was utilized by insurance clearing houses to stay current with the changing requirements. The available benefits data, as well as the changes from the previously published documents, were extracted and sorted by medical CPT codes. Extraction of unstructured information and organizing it into relevant knowledge greatly enhanced the productivity of the Clearing house staff. The average processing time for a form was reduced from 35 minutes to 8 minutes.
